Wonders of Wildlife
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
YouTube video and photo collage
This four day, 26-mile trail, winds through four unique ecosystems, traverses over two 13,000' plus peaks, and ends at the ancient "lost city" of Machu Picchu. Hikers experience breathtaking views and the opportunity to explore several other incredible ruins along the way. During the first day, the trail is a dirt road that is shared with donkeys and local residents. The remainder of the trail is rocks and steep stone stairs that were built by hand during the 15th century over the course of 50 years. This unforgettable journey is mentally and physically challenging, but immensely rewarding. This mysterious and spiritual place is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a epic pilgrimage for any intrepid hiker.
